LOKTA | The art of making lokta paper is one of the traditions that has been preserved in Nepal to this day. This paper is highly resistant to insects. Paper production involves three stages: raw material extraction, paper manufacturing, and finishing. The raw material for the paper is the bark of the lokta bush (silk-leaf), which grows at altitudes of 2,000 to 3,000 meters above sea level.
